The Trees is a song from Hemispheres, the sixth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1978. Written by drummer Neil Peart, it tells the story of conflict between maple and oak trees in the forest.

For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas
