If you are an emerging artist looking for a place to sell your art online there are an increasing number of options to choose from. The percentage of sales acquired this way is still low compared to local art fairs, dealers and word of mouth, but it is on the up as online galleries make it more appealing for artists to realise this option, with simple yet sophisticated upload and display systems. Even if you don’t sell anything it is a good way to garner publicity: Direct links back to your own website may not be allowed but if you have an alternative web presence any interested buyer will find you from there. If you don’t have a website at all, then it’s a good way to get your art online. Going through a well-known name like Saatchi means that you will be guaranteed a certain amount of traffic to your work. For the consumer and art lover, increasing online art means more choice and less dependence on that which is fed to us through galleries and the media.
Plant Curator took a look at what is currently on offer in the plant art realm on Saatchi and picked out a few pieces that we enjoyed. Name of artist, artwork and price are listed. Click on image for more details about each individual artist and their work.
Dear Curator, I am always amazed how inspirational plants are, then I think, why should I be amazed? They ARE just the ultimate inspiration! Dr M
