Five photographs capture the magic of trees

|Inspiration, Photography

The following images demonstrate the ability of trees to inspire, calm and astonish all at the same time.

1. Silvia Camporesi, Il bosco bianco, 2012.

This photograph won the category of best Contemporary Photography in last year’s Francesco Fabbri Prize for Contemporary Art. Is further proof required that trees are living, sentient beings?

2.  Leszek Paradowski, The Beech with a Human Face

This International Garden Photographer of the Year 2010 winning photo was taken in ‘Surroundings of Drawsko Pomorskie in Poland’.  Taken with a wide angle lens at the foot of the plant, it offers a compelling visual of trees as our earth to heaven connectors.

3. Alex Nail, Forest For The Trees

It’s enjoyable to browse Nail’s photography website and read the explanations of his shots. He reminds us that camping out in nature and getting up at dawn really offers the best chance to experience magical moments. He found one here at Leather Tor, Dartmoor.

4. Colin Varndell, Spring Oaks on Hedges

Another IGPOTY winning shot, this was taken in Dorset, England. The light casts its magic on the welcoming trees. A beautiful serenity inducing shot.

5. Martin Rak, Lesní harmonie

So many interesting ethereal tree shots by this Prague based artist. The title on this one translates to ‘Tree Harmony’ – we like that.
